Matt Lang, A History
I graduated from John F. Kennedy HS in 2001. I went on to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO to obtain Bachelor degrees in both Theatre Education and Political Science (emphasis is international relations) with a minor in Environmental Studies. I know what you're thinking... "that's an odd combination?" To further my education I am currently attending Roosevelt University's (Chicago) 3 summer fast-track Theatre Edu. Masters Program. I should be done in 2007.
I am currently single and live really close to school over off of Yale and Wadsworth in the Sandalwood Apartments. I don't live alone though as I have a German Shepard-Chow mix called Squeaker. What can I say...he is my best bud. And don't worry the size of the apartment rivals most missile silo's so Squeaker has plenty of room to roam around.
My hobbies include, but are not limited to, hiking, rock-climbing and reading (Harry Potter mostly). I am also a 9 year student of Jeet Kwoon Do (Bruce Lee's Martial Art). Before I wanted to be a actor/teacher, I wanted to be a geolgist. Since I am still a rock hound, today I have collected over 1000 specimens of different gems and minerals. Wow! I prefer long walks on the beach (what beach?) and for those of you interested I am a Virgo.
During my summers (or when I have time at all), I am a full-blooded actor. A member of the Actor's Equity Association, I have been performing in plays since 4th grade. Recent roles include Banjo from "The Man Who Came to Dinner" and Angie the Ox in "Kiss Me Kate." In my spare time I write plays and my only published one to date is "Out of the Corner of Your Eye" which took home last years Tony award for "Best New Play." If you've seen "A Midsummer Night's Dream" or "A View From the Bridge" at the DCPA this summer, then you saw my professional directing debut.
My favorite color is red and I love chocolate!!!
Well I think that about covers it for now. Of course there is much more about me that I didn't put in here so feel free to come in and talk with me any time (Rm. 234).
